You should always have the freedom to make mistakes and learn from it. But one should not misunderstand mistake with hurting some one. There is a thin line of difference between the 2 its just the attitude that differs. Hence you should be very very careful. Player with freedom should only be you and the after effect should only involve you. And you never make mistakes intentionally it happens by trying to achieve a better way.
